Venus Talismans: Magical Elections in April 2019
The April Magical Elections issue kicked off with two elections that both fell on April 7; one for a Venus talisman, the other a house-based talisman for promotion. It’s not uncommon to find more than one good magical election on the same day; sometimes nice planetary alignments really do seem to travel in packs!
The first election was a talisman for Venus in Pisces. This election is ideal for creating talismans designed to attract beauty, romance, sex, relationships, the arts, good fortune, and luxury. Venus is prominently positioned on the Ascendant while the Moon in Taurus in the second house applies to make a sextile to Venus. The ruler of the first house (representing the mage) is Jupiter in his domicile, Sagittarius, in the 10th house.
The second election was house based, according to a \”recipe\” in the famed medieval astro-magical text, Picatrix (now available in a fabulous new translation). This election is for the creation of a talisman to gain promotion from one\’s lord, or more generally (and modernly), one’s superior. The electional chart relies on a favorable relationship between the Ascendant and the 10th house, and their ruling planets. In our chart, Venus rules the Ascendant (the mage) and Saturn roles the 10th house (the superior), and they are applying to an aspect of perfect friendship, the sextile. In addition, the Moon in Taurus is in the Ascendant and translates light between Venus and Saturn, bringing the two significators together. This was an uncommonly fine election, and I hope that those who purchased April\’s magical elections were able to take advantage of at least one of these elections. If not, have no fear – there are several more coming this month!
The charts below are set for the beginning of the electional period, for Los Angeles, California.
